Tempest Keep Breached!

Tempest Keep Breached!

An enormous amount of effort has to go into getting a guild ready for Tempest Keep. First, everyone in the guild has to finish the first 3 Trials of the Naaru, and while it's 5 man content it's certainly not easy. Shattered Halls is fairly difficult, without a nicely stacked group, and actually getting a group through there with a rogue is a feat that certainly lives up to the "Heroic" title. Arcatraz and Shadow Labyrinth, while not particularly difficult, are both incredibly long -- not to mention tedious -- instance runs.

Then that's just the start, we have to get all of those people we ran through the Heroics through Magtheridon. In the interest of quick keying, these means going against Magtheridon with sometimes less than ideal raid composition. And of course we have to kill him several times to make sure that we have more than just 25 keyed, just to account for the occasional absence.

Once we'd accomplished all of this we decided to take our first baby steps into Tempest Keep, yesterday. The trash seemed fun and mostly fair, no unavoidable instagibs for the most part. We realized we needed smart strategy and positioning to be effective. Then there was lots of trash, and the trash started to get a bit unfair, particularly for melee. Finally we were in sight of Void Reaver! Home stretch!

Loot Reaver?
Loot Reaver?

We started pulling Void Reaver's trash and much to our dismay realized that it's absurdly difficult relative to the rest of the trash in the instance. Easily harder than anything we'd encountered before from trash. Obviously at first glance it looked harder than it was; we found some method to madness as we continued playing with it, developing elaborate positioning setups.

Ultimately we probably spent almost 4 hours learning a clean way to do these last 4 trash pulls, and getting them all down.

And then Void Reaver died on our 3rd pull, ever.

That's why we call him Loot Reaver. Next time remind me to screenshot the trash before him.
