And so marks our first footsteps into the Battle of Mount Hyjal, and more symbolically, into tier 6 raid content. While I can't claim we did it on our first night of pulling, I can say once we got 25 people keyed, we did a bang up job of learning the encounter.
What I like most about Hyjal is the change in system. No longer are trash mobs lingering around corners, waiting to be properly marked and positioned. We fall back to the roots of assist-training dps, on-the-spot crowd control, and random tank pickups, skills once honed for Ragnaros, and much later Gothik the Harvester. As out-of-place and intense as that sounds, that had no bearing on the encounter itself. Rage is purely a DPS burn. I have no idea what the mechanic behind Icebolt is, other than a "haha you lose if your dps sucks" because every person who got hit by it died 2 seconds later, which was incredibly retarded. The fight otherwise is a 'don't suck at moving' test, though the shift from 6 healers/4 tanks and a raid of 24 to 7 healers/5 tanks and a raid of 25 really made the difference in the waves before.
Cheers to a new tier of content, and as a closing note, we are still recruiting one to two final people to secure our raid roster. Send a PM to Quinthalas or message an officer in-game for details (not during raid hours).
