We stuck it to him.
We stuck it to him.

It has been a relatively productive turnout, despite some lapses in attendance that prevented us from raiding Black Temple all week. It was well worth the wait however, and we were able to prepare for it more thoroughly as a result. We have fallen into the cookie-cutter progressment of 3/5 Hyjal, 3/9 Black Temple, a week after properly attuning enough people.

High Warlord Naj'entus was as they say, a 'gift boss'. Despite that, healing for it turned out to be relatively intensive, made more so with the lack of any shaman (Chain heals are terrible hax). Our healers, thankfully with their endless pools of cash, were whipped into chugging mana potions. The encounter itself was fairly different enough; common to Burning Crusade encounter, position is alway vital, but otherwise a healing check.

Punch your face.
Punch your face.

Supremus was a strange one. After hilariously wiping to the 10 elemental pull prior to getting out of the sewers, Supremus' trash marked a trend for what seems like all of Black Temple trash: Long, slightly annoying, filled with crowd control, but otherwise, easy to focus down... and a lot of it, a loooooot of it. Still though, what will soon wear down to a time-consuming 5-man-esque feel, the trash has proved fairly entertaining, having slight twists and unexpected abilities. That all said, Supremus himself was thankfully quite stupid. A mix of Patchwerk and Thaladred, the fight invoked no new strains of thought or strategy. This truly was a, if not the, 'gift boss'.

The death... of himself?
The death... of himself?

Shade of Akama is another old encounter turned new. The feel of it all was terribly reminiscent of Gothik the Harvester, and yet some what perverted into a melee's hurrah. With minor bits of crowd control (mostly Frost Nova), and generic tank-dps, the only exception to the encounter is the unbridled dps-fest that melee dps enjoy. Regardless, Shade of Akama turned out to be otherwise, well, fun. Effortless, and yet, still entertaining.

We ended the general night pulling towards Teron Gorefiend, but ran out of time, sadly. His trash holds the same merit that we have seen thusfar, and proves to keep us watching for what might be. From the small taste of Black Temple last night, it feels like the instance itself has been well tuned, and will be one of the few instances people truly look forward to raiding.
