Vengeance is ours!

Unlike Supremus, Kaz’rogal, and Shade of Akama, the Teron Gorefiend encounter is not a recycled copy of a previous one. This fight has a unique twist to it called “Shadow of Death”, which is a debuff cast every 30 seconds on a random raid member. At the end of the debuff duration, the affected player will die, but spawn 4 shadowy constructs and 1 spirit. After death, the player is in control of the spirit and must use that spirit to kill the shadowy constructs. To further complicate things, the constructs only take damage from the spirit; however, they can deal damage to any player. More than a couple constructs in the raid will definitely lead to a wipe, so the onus really is on the individual players (affected by Shadow of Death) to kill their constructs before they can reach the raid.

In the end, I think the fight is fairly interesting; however, it really is hard to practice handling your constructs when you may never get targeted with the debuff. In fact we still have a couple of players who have never experienced the sheer anxiety of having to kill their constructs. The implication is that next week the fight probably will not be a one-shot like the other BT bosses until everyone gets a chance to fight their own constructs....
