Today marked our first serious venture into the Molten Core (Yeah, that six man raid we did a month ago doesn't count, sorry). Trash clearing went very smoothly, with only one slight hangup the whole night. ;) For the most part the boss fights went smoothly too. We wiped once on Lucifron due to pull silliness. Wut's a paladin, Arc!? Divine shield?! Second attempt went a bit smoother, with no deaths. :)

The really trying fight of the evening was Magmadar, with only one Tranq Shot. Surprisingly, the fight went relatively smoothly thanks in part to excessive consumables (Flask of the Titans tastes delicious). There were a few scary moments where Magmadar chugged 5,000 of my hit points in a few seconds before our tranq cooled down, but the healers never let me fall. Magmadar went down for us without a wipe.

After a short break and regrouping we pushed forward to Gehennas. Gehennas probably could've gone smoother, with the fight claiming the lives of a good portion of the raid, but he still went down on the first attempt. Can't complain too much about that. Similarly Garr fell on our first attempt of the night, even though I recall some dodginess with the adds involving druid tanks and flying warrior corpses. Still, the Garr fight cleaned up nicely and all ended well.

At this point we'd reached the scheduled raid end time, but many of us still wanted to carry on for a bit. We tried our hand at the lava packs with decent levels of success, no wipes, which is indeed promising for our next journey to the Core later in the week. Hopefully this reset will still show Geddon, Shazzrah, Sulfuron and Golemagg falling to us. Majordomo will likely not surface for a couple weeks as we simply won't have the Waterlord rep to summon him.
