What started as an annoying little quest in the Burning Steppes, extensive touring through Blackrock Depths, a march and battle in Stormwind City, a trek to distant Winterspring, and spilling the blood of General Drakkisath eventually led us into the lair of Onyxia, the brood mother of the black dragonflight. Even getting a full raid group into Onyxia's Lair this early in the server's existance is an accomplishment to be proud of. A lot of hours had to be spent in Blackrock Depths, not exactly the funnest place in the world, to accomplish the keying process.
That said, while I certainly didn't expect us to do poorly, our 37 man raid went above and beyond even what I'd have thought we were capable of. Onyxia went down on our first attempt ever with relatively few deaths. Considering this is one of the tougher fights in the game outside of Blackwing Lair right now, I feel this is definitely something to be very proud of.
PS- Noob warrior forgot to forge his [item]Quel'Serrar[/item]. Everyone point and laugh. /tar Arc, /point, /laugh. Next week though. :D
Thanks to everyone who participated in the keying process and who helped in the farming of consumables. Every little bit helps and even the smallest effort helped make tonight go as smoothly as it did.
