Our previous week in BWL had been frustrating as we worked on Nefarian. An unpleasant Drakonid combo left us struggling with the first phase of the fight, and when we finally got Nefarian into phase 2 we realized we were stuck. His shadowflame hits the whole raid; half the raid not in [item]Onyxia Scale Cloak[/item]s instantly dies.
We started on a fresh instance the next week only to discover that not quite everything was on farm status. Some of the bosses gave us a rough battle, wiping a few times before finally killing them again. We got the same Chromaggus as last week, both a blessing and a curse considering it was what we were familiar with, but not one of the nicer combos (IF+TL). And then, we were at Nefarian...
We came prepared. We'd spoken with Bosch, guild leader of Fusion, earlier in the week and had struck up a deal to borrow 15 Onyxia Scales. This amazing act of generosity made tonight's accomplishments possible. It's rather touching to see a fellow alliance guild cooperating with us on this level. We wish the best of luck to Fusion as they delve into Blackwing Lair themselves over the upcoming weeks.
We spoke to Nefarian; the event started... Drakonids, black and bronze poured out upon us. We began practicing, honing our strategy to deal with this rush of dragonkin. One clean shot at Nefarian phase two on Saturday night and we got a taste for the class calls. Alas, it was late, Nefarian would have to wait til Monday...
And indeed, our second attempt of the night on Monday Nefarian went down to 8%. The third phase of the fight caught us off guard and we were in the last 20% with a much smaller raid force. Our third attempt of the night went rather flawlessly. Nefarian fell at last to the hands of Reason.
