Heigan definitely brings a whole new element to the traditional tank the boss, heal the tank, and DPS the boss style of fight. While the fight itself has very little gear demand, a group in all blues could probably do it, it is by no means easy. Heigan doesn't hit very hard at all, he doesn't have that much health. He doesn't really do anything special other than put up a debuff that halves your max health, and occasionally teleport people off into a tunnel that's pretty easy to just run back out of. So what makes the fight hard? Dancing. You have to constantly run around his room in a set pattern to avoid bursts of some kind of green plague goop erupting from the floors.
Easier said than done.
Thanks in a large part to lag, this fight is much harder than it probably should be. Everyone ends up having to adjust their position based on their lag, whether it means running ahead of the pattern so that it looks like they're standing in the middle of an eruption, or just following everyone else. Furthermore the fight is pretty graphic card intensive, meaning people will randomly freeze for a second or two when they need to be moving. So ultimately while the fight was intended to just be an awareness and movement skill check, it ends up being a hardware check too.
On the plus side now that everyone undertsands the dance steps and how to manage the fight based on their computer and connection for the most part, he should be pretty easy to one-shot in the future.
We also got this sweet hat, the [item]Preceptor's Hat[/item], that's barely an upgrade over a blue hat from ZG.
