Gothik is by far the easiest boss in Naxxramas. Well, Gothik himself is by far the easiest. The hard part is actually getting to Gothik in the first place. In fact that part is possibly the hardest thing in Naxx thus far; the only fight coming close in terms of sheer difficulty would be Patchwerk. Patchwerk, however, only really taxes your healers.. On Gothik, the ball is in anyone and everyone's court.

The fight begins simply enough as a few waves of non-elites spawn on one side of the room. They die quickly, but then Gothik resurrects them within a few seconds on the other side of the room. Tricky, tricky. As the battle progresses, considerably more taxing waves of minions spawn, are killed by half the raid, and promptly respawn in undead forms to be finished off by the other half. The zerg portion ends up being like the Noth encounter on steroids. You can't kill everything, and a single loose minion will often wipe your attempt. Very strict kill orders, shackle and sheep assignments, frost nova rotations and positioning elements create a controlled chaos always teetering on the edge of a wipe.

Turns out when Gothik finally comes down after about five minutes, 18 waves of minions, if most of the raid is up, he'll be dying. With a full raid he's a complete pushover.

Almost all of us enjoyed the fight immensely as we started learning it, but after seeing just how meticulously tuned it was, and the level of coordination required to pull it off, it probably ended up being a bit more stressful for a lot of us than it should've been to be a really great encounter. But at least no one is sitting around bored this time.

We finished off the raid with a nightcap pull of the Four Horsemen. Since we only had 5 warriors in raid at the time that didn't go so hot. Project for another day.
